Rubber Ducks Race for Boys & Girls Clubs

Monday June 01, 2009 - The 11th Annual Rubber Duck Derby to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hall County was held on Saturday, May 16, at Clarks Bridge Park on Lake Lanier. The fun-filled family event will began at 10:30 am with lots of activities and games for the entire family and culminated with the much anticipated duck race at 1:30 pm. The Grand Prize Winner of the $10,000 cash was Candice Byrd who graciously donated the prize back to the Club. 1st Place winner – Carol Jones, 2nd Place winner – Amanda Faglie, 3rd Place winner – Mike Edmondson, 4th Place winner – Darla Eden.

Even though the weather was better suited for ducks than humans, nearly 800 people still turned out to watch 16,000 ducks race for Hall County’s kids. “We would like to thank all of our sponsors and everyone who helped make this Derby so much fun. There was certainly more vendors, activities and fun for everyone,” said Larry Baldwin, Head Duck. “The clubs have been serving children in this area for fifty-five years with the generous help of donations and volunteers. The Duck Derby is a major fundraiser which helps us continue to provide services for our kids.”
