2009 - 2010 After-School Program Registration
Tuesday July 14, 2009 - Our Clubs address the most critical issues facing our youth by providing programming targeted toward Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles. More importantly we offer FUN – the number one rule is that everyone must have fun! From field trips, arts and crafts, homework help to computer enrichment, children ages 6 to 18 can take advantage of a variety of programs in a safe environment. Older kids can work on community service projects and participate in “Goals for Graduation” a curriculum based program designed to help teens succeed in school and prepare them for college. “Since the Teen Center opened in June, 2006, 100% of the teens who attend our Club regularly, have graduated from High School on time and over 85% have gone on to some type of higher learning institution, stated Derrick Caldwell, teen center unit director.
Trained professional staff are positive adult mentors and role models. Clubs members are surrounded by people who love, care for and appreciate them. The 2009 – 2010 After-school Program will run from August 11, 2009 – May 21, 2010. Registration will begin Monday, July 27, 9 am – 5 pm at the Positive Place Club (behind Fair Street Elementary), and continue until full. The cost for yearly membership is $25 and the After-School Program is FREE with membership. Memberships are first come, first served and typically fill quickly.
