Jade B. – Youth of the Year Candidate
Jade B. is a 15-year-old 10th grader from Daytona Beach, Florida. She is an active member of her school’s cheer and dance teams and is currently participating in the Youth of the Year competition to gain new experiences and become more involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier.
Jade’s friends and family describe her as loud, pretty, and outgoing. She enjoys giving advice to others, spending time outdoors, making TikTok videos with friends, cooking, and relaxing with her favorite snacks—potato chips or Reese’s Pieces. Her favorite school subject is math, which she finds both fun and easy.
Creative at heart, Jade aspires to become a successful photographer. She admires her mother most, who inspires her through her faith, resilience, and ability to keep smiling through challenges. Jade has also learned an important life lesson herself: to put everything in God’s hands, trust His timing, and not rush the process. A guiding scripture for her is Isaiah 60:22: “A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”
Her biggest piece of advice for other teens is not to rush to grow up, but instead to live life to the fullest by taking risks and embracing challenges. She enjoys music by Lil Baby, Jhene Aiko, and Summer Walker, and her favorite movies are Annie and Love & Basketball. If given the chance to travel anywhere in the world, Jade would choose Dubai.
