Jordan H. – Youth of the Year Candidate
Jordan is a 16-year-old 11th grader from Gainesville, Georgia. He chose to participate in the Youth of the Year competition to inspire others and remind them that they don’t have to be afraid to share their stories.
Jordan is passionate about basketball, his church family, and science—his favorite subject in school. He is actively involved in his school’s basketball team, Men Alive LLC, and Trio, where he continues to grow as both a student and leader. Friends and family describe him as a leader, observant, and calm. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and getting rest.
His dad serves as his greatest inspiration, having taught him lessons that shaped who he is today. Looking ahead, Jordan dreams of being rich and successful by the age of 30, with a career goal of becoming a real estate agent. Outside of his academics and career aspirations, Jordan enjoys playing the drums—something many people may not know about him. His go-to snack is chicken wings from WNB, and his favorite artist is Nino Paid. If given the chance to travel anywhere, he would choose the Bahamas.
Jordan lives by the motto: “Everything is mental; as long as you are prepared for it, nothing can go wrong.” His advice to other teens is simple yet powerful: “Don’t be afraid to be you.”
