Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier is more than just a safe place to go when school is out.

We are mentoring & tutoring & tech & arts & health & fitness & music & on and on. As the largest youth development organization in our region, we proudly serve 1,000 kids every day across 14 Club sites in Hall and Forsyth counties. We are transforming lives across our community, and with your help, we can continue to transform lives just like Jonlyn and Jaurice.

Jonlyn, Teen Center Club Member

Jonlyn’s discipline and commitment to creating a great future for herself and others shines through in her actions. In addition to a list of extracurriculars, such as cheerleading and multiple school clubs, she added participating in the BGCL Youth Development Program to her schedule. The workforce development program gives select Club members the opportunity to work at the Boys & Girls Clubs over the summer, and Jonlyn’s experience is a testament to the success of programs like these aimed at developing responsibility. “Being part of the Youth Employment Program taught me so much,” Jonlyn said. “At the end of the summer, I had build relationships with many of the kids and learned what it takes and why it is important to be responsible and set a good example for younger Club kids.”

Jaurice, Fair Street Club Member

Jaurice struggled with his behavior at school and the Club. Noticing Jaurice’s tendency to overreact to situations, Fair Street Club site coordinator Mason Borders grew passionate about spending more time with him and teaching him the skills to be in control of his emotions, thoughts and behaviors. “When he walked in and proudly shared with me that he didn’t get in trouble because he remembered what we talked about and thought before reacting, I couldn’t have been prouder,” Mason shared.

Now Jaurice is always the first one to volunteer to help the staff and has a new attitude about school and life. He is one example of how consistent support and guidance from caring adults outside of school hours can transform behavior.

We don't just do one thing. We do whatever it takes.

Although serving one child costs $4,300 for an entire year, we provide our programs at little or no cost because every kid deserves role models and resources to guide them on their path.

Will you help us do whatever it takes to build great futures?
