Over 162 Club members attended across four locations in the month of July. The Summer Camp experience has allowed the organization to implement safety protocols necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19. BGCL looks forward to welcoming more young people back to the Club for the After School Program.

At BGCL, ensuring a healthy and safe environment for youth and employees is the number one priority. Clubs reopening will follow protocol and key practices in accordance with CDC guidelines and public health officials’ recommendations.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier set to reopen its doors July 6

Beginning on July 6, Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier (BGCL) will resume in-person summer programming with enhanced health and safety measures and protocols for Boys & Girls Clubs members and employees.

At BGCL, ensuring a healthy and safe environment for youth and employees is the number one priority. Clubs reopening will follow protocol and key practices in accordance with CDC guidelines and public health officials’ recommendations.

BGCL will continue virtual programming through July for those unable to participate with in-person programming.

While planning for the future, BGCL will continue being innovative, offering programming to address the pandemic learning loss experienced by our Club members, especially in subjects of math and reading. Students will likely experience short-term disruptions throughout the upcoming summer months and into the 2020-2021 school year. Each year Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier employs more than 125 certified teachers who devote 19,000+ hours tutoring club members to ensure their academic success.

BGCL will continue to collaborate with existing partners and identify new partnership opportunities to help address family’s ongoing food insecurity needs, social and emotional stresses affecting children and teens, and seek solutions to bridge the technology divide of the vulnerable communities BGCL serves.
